Who We Are

Summer Camp Room Volunteers

At Florida Children’s Museum

A summer volunteer program for Florida Children’s Museum will be an enriching experience for both the volunteers and the museum. Here's what the program looks like...

Program Objectives

FCM’s mission is to curate the world for all children to explore. For volunteers, this means curating a world where they learn valuable skills, can support the Museum mission in a new way, and encourage students to get involved in their community.

The main objectives for the program are:

  • Providing students with a valuable learning experience.
  • Supporting the museum's educational initiatives.
  • Encouraging community involvement among youth.
  • Creating a pipeline for future museum volunteers or staff.

Program Structure

  • Program Duration:
    • The program runs parallel to the Museum’s summer camp program. Same drop off and pick-up routines apply.
  • Time Commitment:
    • Volunteers are expected to fulfill at least 40 volunteer hours over the duration of the program.

Activities:

  • SAMPLE TASKS to support Summer Camp Rooms
    • Travel with each camp class for BSP exploration time (1 hour daily)
    • Assist with breakfast and lunch times (1 hour daily)
    • Support classes during FCM exploration time (1 hour daily)
